What is Identity?
Identity is a picture based computer game in which the player makes choices for the character of a multi-chapter adventure. The game begins with the main character waking up in the back of a police transport vehicle with no memories of his previous life. Supposedly, he has murdered someone, or at least this is what the police officer who arrested the character says. The story follows the character as he tries to figure out who he once was and as he runs from and confronts old enemies.
Why is it picture based?
Identity is picture based because I don't have the time to animate every single set of sequences, no matter what kind of animation technique I use. Therefore, because of lack of time (and well skill), the game has to remain picture based. This doesn't mean that less time has been spent on the other aspects of the game. In fact I actually have more time to work on the plot, the sets, the pictures, the editing, and the player's choices because it is picture based. I have spent dozens of hours on this game to make it the best it possibly can be.
Why is everything in LEGO® bricks?
I have enjoyed using LEGO® bricks to create stories for several years now, most of which were posted online in various places. I have also always wanted to make a video game, and this was the perfect balance for me. It tested not just my writing skills (trust me, making all of the choices add up is very difficult), but also my building and especially my editing skills. This entire game was written, designed, photographed, edited, and uploaded online my me, Caleb Robinson.
